Sun Mustang is the psych-pop endeavour of Houston, Texas native, Ian Alvarado Mora, also known as Laika Alvarado. Ian’s first EP under the name of ‘Laika’ caught our attention several days after its initial release. Lush, echoic melodies wrapped in brittle, lo-fi production, Ian’s work reveals an ear for songcraft far beyond his eighteen years.

The playful charm of ‘Where The Wild Things Are,’ and ‘Jesus, Gun Us Long Hairs Down’ display Ian’s ability to give a restrained performance without sacrificing musicality. Inspired by the seminal work of The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, Slowdive, and Tame Impala, The Sun Mustang Demos are a subtle exercise in warped, melodic minimalism.
